During this portion of OIG implementation, the Compliance Officer will be working closely with the KMC University specialist as he/she utilizes a variety of auditing tools. Although the specialist will be carrying the brunt of the auditing process it is vital that the CO pay close attention throughout the process. Be sure to provide all the necessary data in order to benefit the most from the process. Remember, auditing is a practice’s ‘life skill.’ It is the only way to keep your OIG compliance program alive.
