Evidence-Based Clinical Documentation

Documentation is evidence of what happened with a patient. Many Doctors of Chiropractic bill services to third party payers without a clear understanding of the rules surrounding documentation, coding and medical necessity. Even if you choose not to participate in insurance billing, a Doctor of Chiropractic license requires you to meet minimum documentation requirements to uphold a standard of care. This section of your training explains how to tell a better story with your documentation and minimize the risk to your practice through compliant documentation. Coding explains the services you provide using numbers rather than words. It is normally the only information that a payer may see about a patient’s care. Accurate coding is a critical part of a compliant practice. Your coding and documentation must match exactly. This part of the training helps you master the coding process as a medical provider.
