When billing electronically, it adds a layer of detail in that claims are submitted through a clearinghouse. This means that claims are reviewed many times, electronically, to ensure they are clean and correct. Often, there is a process as billing comes out of the software, then as it is submitted to the clearinghouse, or middle man. Then the claims are scrubbed for payment again at the payer. Electronic billing is efficient and effective and worth every penny paid to take the work off the office and into cyberspace.
