Protecting Medicare and American Farmers from Sequester Cuts Act

Due to the pandemic, the Protecting Medicare and American Farmers from Sequester Cuts Act was placed on hold. This has been lifted as of April 1st and will result in a 1% payment reduction effective April 1, 2022 to June 30, 2022 on Medicare Fee For Service claims. This will be a gradual increase. As outlined by congress, by July 1, 2022, it will be a 2% increase in payment reduction. This cut only impacts Medicare covered services. Keep in mind, this does not impact the amount a provider collects from the patient but rather the amount the provider is paid.
