The Office of Inspector General (OIG) of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has appealed to healthcare providers since 2001 to implement a Compliance Program into their practice. But before you install that Compliance Program, you must conduct a baseline audit of your existing documentation and other compliance-related procedures to assess your level of compliance.
